Hi, we're the Daniel family! Kris and Elise started Daniel Electric in July 2023 after Kris's major career change. Here's the story...
Kris left his desk job at a government contractor in the fall of 2020 for a complete 180 degree career change and leap of faith: to become an electrician.
Kris grew up witnessing the hard work of his father, an entrepreneur and electrical engineer, and his grandfathers, both skilled tradesmen who could build anything from cars to houses from scratch. Their hands-on approach to work, combined with the entrepreneurial spirit of his parents who run an independent cable TV company, sparked Kris's interest in the trades and eventually led him to start his own business.
But it wasn't until Kris and Elise bought their first home and Kris started tinkering with small electrical projects around the house that he discovered just how much he preferred working with his hands to his sedentary 9-5 job. That's when Kris knew he had to trade the comforts of his white collar career for his dirty dream job. Luckily, Elise was supportive of this risky course change.
Today, Daniel Electric is a small and successful family-owned electrical company that happily serves the entire Northern Virginia area with white collar professionalism, stellar communication, and premium electrical work.
Kris left his desk job at a government contractor in the fall of 2020 to study to become an electrician. During his electrical training, he worked as an apprentice at MC Dean and as a journeyman electrician for Reddick & Sons. Kris received his master's electrician license (#2710076504) in the spring of 2023 and Daniel Electric launched that July.
Kris grew up in the San Francisco Bay area. He previously worked in fundraising at an energy policy non-profit in Washington D.C. and as an HR specialist for government contractors in northern Virginia. He lives in Purcellville, Virginia with his wife, Elise, and their children.
To Kris, the work of the electrician is a skilled craft that takes thoroughness and high attention to detail. With his methodical approach and perfectionist mentality, he focuses on producing clean and excellent work for his customers.
Sebastian is a talented electrician who grew up in Purcellville, Virginia. He was homeschooled through high school. After graduating, he worked as a stonemason for a general contractor. When he transitioned to electrical work, he studied under a master electrician with 35 years experience. For over two years, he took on jobs ranging from installing recess lights to swapping out main panels and honed his ability to seamlessly integrate electrical installations into spaces, balancing technical requirements with overall design.
Sebastian joined the Daniel Electric team in 2025. He takes pride in finding solutions that fit each customer's unique circumstances, while delivering work that is neatly installed and meticulously wired.
Maggie ensures all customer scheduling runs smoothly by managing appointments and addressing customer inquiries. Her goal is to provide excellent customer service and help the Daniel Electric team stay organized and efficient.
